Fundraising BBQ

On Saturday, April 28th the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association will be hosting a BBQ at the Stittsville Sobeys from 11 am – 1 pm. Hot-dogs, soft drinks, and chips will be available.

The Stittsville Sobeys has generously donated all food. Proceeds will go back to the SMHA.

For the month of April, the Stittsville Sobeys has chosen the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association to benefit from the Senators PowerPlay Donation.  This means that every time our Ottawa Senators score a powerplay goal in the month of April, the Stittsville Sobeys will donate $100 to the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association.  Go Sens Go!

Competitive Coaching Applications 2012-2013 Season

The Stittsville RAMS Competitive program is now accepting
Head Coach applications for the 2012-2013 season.

The RAMS will run the following Competitive Tier III teams
during the 2012-2013 season.

Applicants must have a valid police record check,
Development 1 Coaching Certification, and Speak Out.

Our Annual General Meeting will be Sunday, April 15 from 10 am-1pm at the Stittsville Legion. SMHA will be raffling off 3 Bauer Total One hockey sticks at the AGM.  Each stick has a retail value of $280.  Everyone in attendance has a chance to win one!

Child Fitness Tax Credit

Fees paid to the SMHA for registration qualify for a federal government Fitness Tax Credit.

You can claim the tax credit for each child who was under 16 at any time during the year in which you paid the registration fees.

Receipts are not required to be submitted as part of your income tax return. If you are audited, you can request an receipt by completed this form

Players/Parents/Convenors/Coaches/Managers

As we prepare to end the regular season and plan for playoffs, your practice ice allocation is often released with short notice.  As an association, we are responsible to provide home team playoff ice to the LCMHL and Bytown leagues.  Returned ice is then used for practices and distributed to all SMHA levels.  A few hours are also held back in the event a game is cancelled for unforeseen reasons (weather).  These hours are used to reschedule those cancelled games.

We understand this can be a frustrating time of year, however much of this is out of our control.  We ask that you please be patient over the next month and a half as we allocate ice in small doses.  Coaches and parents should be prepared to respond quickly to short notice schedules. 

We will do our best to get schedules out as quickly as possible as we understand families need to plan their weekly activities.

Be sure to check your emails on a regular basis to ensure you do not miss a game or practice.

If you have questions or concerns regarding ice we ask that you please address them with your Coach and/or Manager.
