April 2010 Newsletter

Hello fellow hockey parents

Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful season of hockey. The ice times might be done till the fall, but there is lots still going on behind the scenes to keep you up-to-date on.

Coach Evaluation Survey

The Coach Evaluation Survey is now available - take 5 minutes to give feedback and make next year's hockey experience better for your player. This information is held in confidence: your individual responses are never seen by anyone, and only the SMHA executive sees the aggregated results. The needs of the members are the driving force behind this survey. The SMHA executive  uses this information to improve hockey programs and to help make coaching decisions for next year.  The survey will close on April 30th, 2010.  Any questions, please contact communications_2@stittsvilleminorhockey.com

SMHA Annual Meeting - Calling all SMHA Members

When: Saturday April 24th, 2010
Time:  starting at 10 AM
Where: Isaac's, 6400 Hazeldean Road in Stittsville

Details on the agenda, open management council positions and proposed changes to the constitution can be found here. Pizza will be served and two paid registration fees for the 2010/2011 season will be raffled off (you must be in the room to win!)

Registration

Registration for 2010-2011 season is going on-line.  No more paper forms!  Stay tuned for more as we sort out the details.

Registration Receipts for 2009/10

A Child Fitness Tax Credit is available to many SMHA members as part of your annual income tax return. To remind yourself of how much you paid so you claim the correct amount, you can find all the fees on the Registration Fees page.  Revenue Canada does NOT require you to include a receipt with your income tax return. Receipts are only needed if you get audited.  We are not sending out receipts for 2009/2010 registration fees this season but if you are audited and need one, you can request one by completing this form. Please only request one if you need one as these take time to produce and we are all volunteers with day jobs.

ICE

We've had quite a few questions lately regarding how ice times are allocated so we've done up an Ice Tutorial. Hopefully it will shed some light on this oh-so-cool subject.  If you have other questions, we'd love to hear them and we'll get you the best answers possible.
