Stittsville B2 Fury battle hard to claim 1st place in John Corr Memorial tournament in Rome, NY!

The Stittsville B2 Fury fought a hard tournament to claim 1st place against 3 American teams this past weekend.

First game was a 5-1 win over Bethlehem, NY.  The Fury started a little slow but found their legs in the second and skated to a strong finish. Second game we battled back against very big and physical  Whitestown, NY team. Jackson Dunnigan scored the tie-ing goal with 2.0 seconds left in the third. This gave the Fury a 3 point victory from this game, helping them later advance to the championship game.

Third game was against the host team from Rome.  Again it was tied 2-2. Very similar team to the Fury and some nice kids and coaches.

On Sunday, the Fury faced the Whitestown Wolfpack again.  Dylan Batchelar set a new team record with fastest goal...6 seconds after the opening face off. Game was a tough hard fought game. Noah Brigden tied the game 2-2 in the third period to force overtime. The Fury played two overtimes before a shootout. Isaac Faubert was outstanding in nets stopping all 5 of the opposing shooters. The fifth shooter for Stittsville, Noah Brigden, buried the puck into the other teams net. Our loyal fans exploded with excitement!  Way to go Fury!!!
