Beginning in the 2015–16 minor hockey season, parents of players in the HEO jurisdiction are required to take the Respect in Sport Parent Program.
This mandatory online program costs $12.00. A minimum of one parent or guardian from each family with players at the IP or Novice level — all divisions — must complete the program.
Note: The Respect in Sport Parent Program is different from the Respect in Sport Leader/Coach Program or Speak Out. Parents who have completed the Leader/Coach Program or Speak Out must still complete the Parent Program certification.
The Respect in Sport mission is to empower individuals to recognize and prevent abuse, bullying, and harassment through interactive online certification.
Their vision is to eliminate abuse, bullying, and harassment by inspiring a global culture of respect.
